Are dark circles plaguing your appearance? Do you want to learn how to cover these? Fear not, I am here to teach you how to cover your circles like a pro:
Eye Prep
Start with clean skin. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, if needed, and pat dry. Follow your regular skin prep. For your under eye, use your favorite eye cream, and pat gently onto skin.
Color Correct
Once your eye prep is done, then color correct, using a liquid or cream-based color corrector. Determine what color the dark circles are. And then, go on to the simplified color wheel:
Pick the color that is closest to your dark circles. For example, if you have very thin skin under your eyes like myself, and have your green veins sort of showing, then go to the color green, and then see what the opposite color is (red). Based on your skin color, you want to go with a color corrector with a bit of red or orange in it. For me, the color salmon works best to neutralize my dark circles. The darker your skin tone, the brighter the color corrector should be.
To color correct, take a bit of the color correcting product, and dab it on only the areas that need it (remember, less is more).
Concealer
Next, pick the perfect concealer color. The concealer color should match your foundation. If you’re looking to brighten up the undereye area, then it is okay to use a slightly lighter shade (maybe half a shade lighter). The last thing you want is racoon eyes. When you have the right concealer color, stipple it lightly on top of the color correcting product that already exists under your eyes.
Hot Fingers
Warm up your fingers (rubbing them together). Then, go over the concealer to smooth it out. Be careful not to rub it in, as the concealer color will then mix with the color corrector color, and you’ll end up having a colorful mess under your eyes. Just pat it down, until it looks seamless.
Powder
If your under eye tends to crease or if you have very dry skin, then you may want to skip the powder. For everyone else, take a minimal amount of loose powder onto a sponge, and lightly dab underneath the eyes. Once done, mist a bit of setting spray onto the sponge, and go over it again, using a bouncing motion. This will help everything stay put.
