Ladies, lashes can either make or break your wedding look. Individual or strip lashes for your wedding day? It all boils down to your preference and the look that you are going for. For intensity, strip lashes may be your best bet. However, for a soft glam or natural look, then individual lashes are for you.
Strip Lashes
Pros
- Quick and easy to apply and wear
- Can stack them (wear on top of each other) for an out-of-this-world glam look
- Many different styles to choose from
Cons:
- Tends to be heavy on the eyes
- Can start unraveling at the corners as the day goes on, especially if there are tears involved (which is likely inevitable on the wedding day)
My favorite brands:
Ardell – the wispies or demi wispies
Lilly Lashes – pricier than Ardell’s but more variety for an ultra glam vibe. My favorite are the mink Mykonos.
Individual Lashes
Pros
- Natural look, perfect for brides
- More comfortable as they don’t have a heavy feel
- Can be worn for a few days until they naturally fall out
- Can mix and match lengths and types
Cons
- Time consuming to place and apply
- Difficult to remove as you can’t always tell the difference between your natural lashes and the applied lashes
My favorite brands:
Ardell – trios lash
Ardell – double flares
Although strip lashes are easier for your makeup artist to apply, and a lot of artists groan at the thought of individuals, I personally prefer individual lashes for brides. You can still get an elegant, elevated look with these, without looking like you have wings on your eyes. Strategically placed, individual lashes can look just as glam, if not more, as strip lashes. Your artist will customize it so that it will fit well with your eye shape.
