Now that you have mastered how to apply your false lashes, you’re probably wondering how to remove your falsies. It’s a very common question that I get asked by my clients constantly. Well, sit back and relax and let mama give you the scoop on how to remove your false lashes safely!
Steps to remove your false strip lashes:
- Reach the outer corner of the lashes (the corner closest to your ear).
- Give it a little tug and see if it moves. If your makeup artist sealed it on nice and tight, this may be a tough one.
- If it does not budge, take a bit of baby oil (not olive oil!) and apply by the lash line. If you do not have baby oil on hand, you can use a gentle eye makeup remover – such as the Neutrogena eye makeup remover.
- After a few seconds, give it another tug. This should help break up the glue.
- Once the edge of the lash is free, you can tug gently at the rest of the lash to remove it
- Do the same for the other eye
- If you plan to re-use these lashes, place them in a small box for later use. A small zip lock bag works as well.
Steps to remove your false individual lashes:
- This one is a bit tricky. The best method is to let them fall out naturally. If your makeup artist did a really good job, then you won’t be able to tell the difference between your natural lashes and false lashes.
- Apply baby oil or a gentle eye makeup remover on a cotton ball and rub over your lashes. This will loosen up the glue.
- If you know which lashes are false, then start removing them. They should fall out easily after the previous step.
- If you’re not sure, then it is best to leave the lashes in and let them fall out naturally. The last thing you want is to pull out your natural lashes by mistake!
I hope these tips will help you the next time you need to remove your false lashes.
