Ladies, we’ve all been there: trying to find the perfect blush for your fair skin. Fair skin, by definition, is very light toned and can sunburn easily. For this skin tone, it is best to stick to light colors that don’t mask your face. I’ve seen too many clients with fair skin who look like clowns because even a touch of dark color, that is not blended correctly, will look electrifying – and not in a good way, either.
The majority of fair skin beauties have cool undertones – in other words, blue or pink hues underneath your skin. For a natural flush look, blushes with pink or peach shades will work best. Also, sheer formulas, as well as mineralized blushes, will look exceptional.
Some of my favorite blush colors for fair skin are:
- NARS Orgasm – peachy pink with a golden shimmer. It’s my go-to blush for fair skin tones as it really jazzes up the cheeks without looking too over the top.
- MAC Mineralize Blush in Petal Power – coral pink with gold shimmer. This blush is one of my personal favorites. I use it to build on top of a matte blush as it has sheer coverage.
- Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Peaceful – super soft silky powder in soft nude-peach that stays all day. Worn by itself can bring a beautiful color to your cheeks.
- Temptu’s Peony – now this is for my airbrush users. I swear by this pink blush color on my brides as it’s sheer but once dry, it looks amazing on my fair skin clients.
- Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff – cream/gel blush that is sheer and buildable without looking cakey. Perfect for a flushed look without looking like doll-face (unless that’s the look you’re going for, in which case, carry on).
There you have it – my favorite blushes for fair skin. At the end, wear the color that you feel the most confident in. Whether it’s bold or soft, it should make you feel like you’re walking on clouds.
