Are you haunted by dark undereye circles? Don’t know how to combat them? You have tried multiple concealers, yet your circles are still visible? Fear not, my loves! Today, we’re going to discuss how to cover up these pesky circles and have you looking flawless.

Color Correct

First things first, color correct! Determine what color the dark circles are. And then, go on to the simplified color wheel:

Pick the color that is closest to your dark circles. For example, if you have very thin skin under your eyes like myself, and have your green veins sort of showing, then go to the color green, and then see what the opposite color is (red). Based on your skin color, you want to go with a color corrector with a bit of red or orange in it. For me, the color salmon works best to neutralize my dark circles. The darker your skin tone, the brighter the color corrector should be.

To color correct, take a bit of the color correcting product, and dab it on only the areas that need it (remember, less is more).

Next, stipple a concealer that is closest to your skin tone over the area. Contrary to popular belief, concealer should not be lighter than your skin tone. This actually defeats the purpose of covering up circles, and will showcase them even more.

Warm Up Concealer

Before applying the concealer, try warming it up first with your fingers for about 30 seconds. Warming it up allows it to glide on smoother, therefore requiring less product.

Avoid Creasing

Finally, using a sponge, apply loose powder on top of the concealer (less is more), patting gently to allow product to absorb. To avoid creasing, add a spritz of setting spray on the makeup sponge, and then bounce it on the powdered under eye area. Do this a few times.

Remember, dark circles, especially if hereditary, do not need to be a taunting task. As long as you have the right products and techniques, they can be invisible for a while.
